Sharing this in the hopes of finding my ideal client. What's my ideal client? I am looking for people who have a good idea of what they want, who are open minded and enjoy sharing their ideas and beliefs with me. Here's more of what I think, beliefs philosophies etc.
~I believe that birth is not an illness or a condition, but an amazing, wonderful, exciting event that is normal, natural and healthy. Birth is not an emergency it is an emergence.
~Pregnancy, labor and birth have a profound effect on you and your family. It is an experience that is never forgotten. It’s transformative and powerful. My role in labor is not to save or take over. I hold space, I nurture and I enable the partner (whomever they are)to be what the birthing person needs. I protect your neocortex (You will find out more about
this in my Childbirth Education Class.) I care for both you and your partner.
~A pregnant person intuitively and instinctively knows how to labor and give birth. Those caring and supporting them, need to trust and respect that. It’s our job to hold this space as sacred and respect the journey as it unfolds. Only people who trust and believe in you and your body and your baby's ability to know how to be born should share that space with you.
~Your confidence and ability to give birth is either enhanced or diminished by those who care for you and where you birth. The witnesses to your work can influence your progress. Even those who care for you, if they do not trust the process can hinder it.
~You have the right to give birth free from routine medical interventions. If interventions become necessary, all information needed to support and understand the intervention, should be provided. Informed consent is your right and should be addressed in a respectful way.
~You have the right to choose where and with whom you give birth.
Education empowers you to make informed choices in health care, to assume responsibility for your health and to trust your intuition, instinct and inner wisdom. You deserve to receive information about birth, your right’s and choices outside of the institution where you will birth your children.
